Tetrabutylammonium Bromide (TBAB) is a high-purity quaternary ammonium salt, highly soluble in water, alcohols, and chloroform. TBAB displays physicochemical properties similar to inorganic salts and provides excellent conductivity in aqueous solution. Widely used as a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis, TBAB is also an effective curing accelerator for polymerization, an organic electrolyte for the electronics industry, a template agent for molecular sieves, a phase change energy storage material, and an HPLC analytical reagent. It also finds application as a surfactant, descaling agent, adsorbent, and oilfield chemical.
